  • Recruitment Services - PLUS40 is firstly a Recruitment Agency that finds you the best skilled and experienced employees to match your business needs, with the understanding that all our candidates are over 40 years of age.  The benefit is that they all walk through the door generally bringing over 20 years experience in your industry, required task or specific skills with them from day one!  Our One-Off Upfront Placement Fees are amongst the lowest in the industry at 10% of the base annual salary plus super, for our Self Service option.
  • Consulting Services - PLUS40 can offer a range of expert consulting services including Age Audits of your workforce, Retirement / Resignation Intentions Surveys, Attraction and Retention Policy Development, Training of Your Recruiting Line Managers and Psychometric Assessment Services.
  • Training Services - PLUS40 has access to world class online training courses to cost effectively provide self-paced skills enhancement and workplace ready qualifications.  PLUS40 also has strategic alliances in place with numerous Registered Training Organisations who can also deliver VETAB accredited qualifications to your staff - either individually or for a group of staff through in-house delivery.

How much does it cost to join PLUS40?
A:
For Job Seekers, membership is FREE .
For Employers, membership to the site is also FREE, including free online position listings.  However, Employers pay a ONE-OFF Up-front Placement Fee for ALL successful placements.
 
Q:
Does PLUS40 guarantee to get me a job?
A:
No. What we guarantee is to provide you with the tools necessary to understand your skills and abilities better, to seek out the most appropriate option within your area. In addition, PLUS40 intends to try and ensure via education and public awareness, that Australian businesses are more likely to recognise your value to the workplace.
 
Q:
Can I become an Advocate for PLUS40?
A:
Yes! Once you've become an Job Seeker or Employer Member of PLUS40, you can apply to become the Advocate for your local area. Advocates have the opportunity to really play a part in your community's support of experienced workers in Australia, and get paid for it.

Is the personal information I provide PLUS40 kept confidential?
A:
Yes. Your personal information will not be shared with any third parties without your prior consent.

Is my employment information kept private?
A:
The way our online resume is structured all your personal details are masked to protect your privacy.  The details a registered employer member will see include:
Your name, city and state, your education, work, training and skills information.
Any referees you list will be held on file for PLUS40 to access, once an employer you have had an interview with requests a reference check.  We contact you to advise that this is happening prior to contacting your referees, so you can give them advance notice of being contacted.
PLUS40 endeavour to ensure your privacy, so only include information in your resume(s) that you are happy for a prospective employer to read.
 
Q:
Can I increase the font size on my computer screen so I can read the site more easily?
A:
Yes. Select "View" on your browser menu at the top of the page. Select "Text Size", and "Increase". You can increase the text size using this method, which will apply to all web pages you view.
 
Q:
Can I join the site if I am not yet 40?
A:
The resources developed and links provided on the site are for people aged 40 years and over, as are all of our marketing strategies. As there are a range of other companies who provide services to people under 40, it may be wise for you to utilise their services.
 
Q:
Isn't that discrimination?
A:
Under a ruling by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, permanent exemptions contained in s33(b) and/or s33(c) of the Age Discrimination Act 2004 apply to PLUS40's website and activities. We are providing positive discrimination for a previously disadvantaged group.
 
Q:
I am using a MAC and can't seem to get some of the pages to be shown properly. What should I do?
A:
Our site supports a range of web browsers for Mac, including Firefox, Safari and Opera. Unfortunately, we cannot support Microsoft Internet Explorer for Mac, as Microsoft stopped developing this product in 2003, and we cannot support this browser as it does not support some of the web standards that we use. We support Mac users through the following browsers: Firefox 1.0+ (http://getfirefox.com/), Safari (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/safari.html) and Opera 8 and above (http://www.opera.com/download/). Is there anything else to pay for?

PLUS40 is able to provide you with a range of personality and behaviour assessment reports for managing your career.  All reports are provided by Balance at Work Pty Ltd, using Harrison Assessments. The Harrison Assessment gives an accurate measurement of your suitability to a range of careers, based on a short online questionnaire.  A detailed report is available to you within 24 hours of completing the report.  More detailed analysis and consultation is also available on request. Reports are available for $89 per report including GST.

If you choose to undertake PLUS40 Online Training, which we also purchase externally for your use, there is an additional cost of $399 including GST for a one year subscription. This subscription provides you with access to over 530 training courses for a whole year! There is a special "Try Before You Buy" section, so check them out to see if they suit your needs. You'll find them in the Skills Enhancement Centre of the site.
Employers: If you choose to offer employment to a PLUS40 Job Seeker member, you will be subject to a minimum fee of 10% of the annual salary package, which is around 50% of the current market rate.  Other consulting services can be provided at our standard rates.  Professional Assessment Services of shortlisted candidates can also be provided upon request.  Initial reports on individual candidates are available for $199 per report plus GST.  Subsequent or additional reports on the same candidate are available for $99 per report plus GST.
 
Q:
Do I get access to the Online Training courses when I join the PLUS40 site?
A:
As a member of PLUS40, you will have access to the Skills / Training Centre. Here you will have access to hundreds of free tutorials covering a range of topics including personal development, computer skills, hobbies, interests, etc. You will also have access to the full Resource Centre with self-help training courses specifically created to help you develop your skills.
A further investment of $399.00 (including GST) is required to gain access to over 530 specialised on-line training courses which can be completed in the comfort of your own home! This fee allows you to complete as many of the courses available within a 12 month period, so why not check out the Try Before You Buy function.
